In this report, papers most relevant to this thesis are classified into three categories. The first category is methodology and tools (Section 2), which includes papers on various analysis tools and best practices for Internet measurement studies [12, 13, 15]. The second category is packet loss (Section 3), which contains papers on analysis of packet loss as well as papers on loss inference techniques [3, 4, 6, 14, 17]. Related work on round trip times (RTTs) constitutes the third category (Section 4) which includes papers examining various characteristics of RTTs in network traffic [1, 5, 6].
